Katopol, Patricia

Patricia Katopol's research interests are in the areas of knowledge management, organizational culture and information exchange, and information policy. She is particularly interested in helping small businesses and nonprofit organizations develop low cost knowledge management processes. She examines human information behavior in organizations from a holistic perspective using the Cognitive Work Analysis framework. Her research using this framework has included a study of the information gathering behavior of black graduate students in majority institutions and the relationship of support staff information culture to managerial decision-making.
